Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an experiential course that teaches mindfulness practices to support increased self-awareness and self-care. Mindfulness helps us to slow down, pay attention, and see things more clearly. It supports our ability to savor the pleasures in life as they occur and cultivate a greater capacity to deal with difficulties. The MBSR course consists of eight weekly classes and one full day of Mindfulness. The group can accommodate up to 25 participants.
Mindful Parenting is a course based on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). It was designed for parents of children with mental health diagnoses, but is supportive and applicable to all parents. Participants learn Mindfulness practices and how to apply them to everyday lives as parents. Mindful Parenting consists of eight weekly classes and can include an additional half-day. The group can accommodate size eight to sixteen participants. Parents and caregivers of children of all ages are welcome.
No prior experience is required for either program.
Meditation is not meant to help us run away from difficulties. It is meant to allow positive healing to take place. To meditate is to learn how to stop being carried away by our regrets about the past, our anger or despair in the present, or our worries about the future.

Yoga has been a part of my professional and personal life for over 20 years and I love teaching! It has been a privilege to share yoga with diverse populations in a variety of settings, including in my work as a mental health clinician. I have also instructed elementary school teachers in the use of yoga in the classroom. I am grateful to have had the privilege to study with many inspiring teachers in a variety of traditions .
My yoga classes are available to individuals or groups. I am happy to offer yoga instruction in your home, office, community center, or setting of your choosing. Contact me to discuss how I can provide a practice to meet your needs.
Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.

My Social Work education and experience includes practice as a mental health clinician in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, program management, community development, hospital social work, and work with older adults. My work using yoga and meditation as adjunct therapies with children and families receiving mental health services received the Clara Kemila Anderson Memorial Award for the best practicum in the Social Clinical Stream in the Master of Social Work program.
My current focus is teaching Jewish Mindfulness, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and facilitating Mindful Parenting groups. Contact me if either offering might be of interest to you for your clients, staff, organization, or community group. I would be happy to discuss how to make Mindfulness Practice accessible to you and those you serve.
My interest in sharing Mindfulness practice is aligned with my wholehearted commitment to upholding the six core social work values:
1) Respect for the Inherent Dignity and Worth of Persons
2) Pursuit of Social Justice
3) Service to Humanity
4) Integrity in Professional Practice
5) Confidentiality in Professional Practice Value
6) Competence in Professional Practice
